Isaac Chaifetz is an illustration student from Indianapolis, studying drawing and illustration at Herron School of Art and Design. He, currently holds an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts from Ivy Tech Community College. Chaifetz’s attention to specificity of life is exemplified in his portrait and figure work learned in his years of studying from the live model at the Herron Alumni Figure Drawing Group, and other figure drawing groups around the Indianapolis metropolitan area. He received the Best in Show at a Portrait in a Day Competition held by Ignite Studio. However Chaifetz uses these veristic figures to populate his narrative and fantasy illustrations. With the compositions being one part film still and one part academic history painting his illustrations can very credibly evoke a sense of time and place.
